A major new exhibition has opened this week at Madrid’s Galería de las Colecciones Reales, shining an unprecedented spotlight on Queen Victoria Eugenie of Spain. Since the announcement of the Habsburg Royal Jewels hidden in Canada last month, we have been in close contact with the famed House of A.E. Köchert in Vienna. Last night, we were invited to the preview of the magnificent Exhibition ‘A. E. Köchert Jeweller to Emperor and Crown’ at the Royal Palace of Gödöllő near Budapest, which opens today and runs until April 6th. Magnificent Heirlooms from the Habsburg Family, the Austrian Nobility and Princess Caroline of Monaco are on display!
While most eyes were on the Princess of Wales wearing Queen Victoria’s Oriental Circlet Tiara at the German State Banquet at Windsor Castle, Queen Camilla also debuted a magnificent heirloom that has only been worn once before in over eight decades, by the late Queen for her last Gala Appearance; the Greville Emerald Necklace!
Crown Prince Haakon joined King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway as they held their annual Gala Dinner for the Bishops of the Church of Norway at the Royal Palace of Oslo on December 4th, just a few weeks after the annual Gala Dinner for Members of the Norwegian Parliament (Stortingsmiddag).
