King Carl XVI Gustaf’s Golden Jubilee Schedule

The Swedish Royal Court has announced the schedule for King Carl XVI Gustaf’s Golden Jubilee Celebrations throughout the year of 2023, alongside unveiling the anniversary logo designed by Elis Nyström. King Carl XVI Gustaf is the longest reigning King in Swedish History and the first Swedish Monarch to celebrate a Golden Jubilee, though his cousin, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark celebrated her Golden Jubilee this year. The Jubilee will also be marked with events in several places throughout the country, with a number of interviews, TV documentaries and book releases about the King’s life and reign.

Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II

Foreign Royal Guests and Relatives and Heads of State and Representatives of 121 Countries joined the British Royal Family for the Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey on September 19th, followed by a Procession to Marble Arch and a Committal Service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. The late Queen, who passed away at Balmoral Castle earlier this month, had been Lying-in-State first at St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh and then at Westminster Hall in London for the past week.

Heads of State Reception at Buckingham Palace

Ahead of the Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey tomorrow, the British Royal Family hosted a Reception for visiting Heads of State and Representatives at Buckingham Palace, which is stated to be one of the largest gatherings of Heads of State in History. The late Queen, who passed away at Balmoral Castle earlier this month, has been Lying-in-State first at St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh and then at Westminster Hall in London for the past week, with the Funeral at Westminster Abbey tomorrow to be followed by a Procession to Marble Arch and a Committal Service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. Finnish State Visit to Sweden

The Swedish Royal Family hosting President Sauli Niinistö and First Lady Jenni Haukio of Finland, who are on a State Visit to Sweden from May 17th to the 19th, to celebrate and build diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties. King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia last made a State Visit to Finland in 2015, while the last Finnish State Visit was in 2012.
