Each composed of a striking antique diamond floral element with a large diamond pendant, the Swedish Royal Family posses several splendid antique diamond earrings with a notable provenance, but these pieces are more unknown, appearing in the 1980s.
The Diamond Floral Earrings appeared in 1985, when Queen Silvia paired them with Queen Josefina’s Diamond Stomacher Necklace for the Wedding of Baroness Charlotte Palmstierna and Anders Wall.
Queen Silvia began wearing the Diamond Floral Earrings more frequently around the 1990s, appearing for King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway’s 60th Birthday Banquet in 1997, the Russian State Visit to Sweden in 1997, Princess Alexia of Greece’s Wedding Gala in 1999, Crown Prince Haakon’s Pre-Wedding Gala in 2001, the Swedish State Visit to Brunei in 2004, the Swedish State Visit to Australia in 2005, and King Carl XVI Gustaf’s 60th Birthday Banquet in 2006.
The Diamond Floral Earrings were also worn by Queen Silvia for the Gala held on the eve of the Wedding of Crown Princess Victoria in 2010, Queen Margrethe’s Ruby Jubilee Gala in 2012, King Carl XVI Gustaf’s 70th Birthday Banquet in 2016, Canadian State Visit to Sweden in 2017 the Nobel Prize Ceremony in 2019.
Crown Princess Victoria debuted the Diamond Floral Earrings at the Pre-Wedding Gala of Crown Prince Felipe and Letizia Ortiz at the El Pardo Palace in Madrid in 2004.
Princess Madeleine has worn the Diamond Floral Earrings on numerous occasions, including for the Wedding Ball of Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco in 2011, the Nobel Prize Ceremony in 2015, the South Korean State Visit to Sweden, and for New Portraits of the Swedish Royal Family in 2022.

Earlier this year, Princess Sofia wore the Diamond Floral Earrings for the first time as she debuted a new version of her Wedding Tiara (this time with citrines) for King Carl XVI Gustaf’s Jubilee Banquet at the Royal Palace of Stockholm.
The following month, Crown Princess Victoria paired the Diamond Floral Earrings with the Laurel Wreath Tiara and Queen Josefina’s Diamond Stomacher Necklace for Prince Christian of Denmark’s 18th Birthday Gala Dinner at Christiansborg Palace.
