Foreign Royal Guests and Relatives and Heads of State and Representatives of 121 Countries joined the British Royal Family for the Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey on September 19th, followed by a Procession to Marble Arch and a Committal Service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. The late Queen, who passed away at Balmoral Castle earlier this month, had been Lying-in-State first at St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh and then at Westminster Hall in London for the past week.
Ahead of the Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey tomorrow, the British Royal Family hosted a Reception for visiting Heads of State and Representatives at Buckingham Palace, which is stated to be one of the largest gatherings of Heads of State in History. Princess Maria Laura of Belgium, Archduchess of Austria-Este, daughter of Prince Lorenz, Archduke of Austria-Este and Princess Astrid of Belgium, married William Isvy at the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula in Brussels on September 10th, following a Civil Ceremony at the Brussels City Hall.
Princess Maria Laura of Belgium, Archduchess of Austria-Este, daughter of Prince Lorenz, Archduke of Austria-Este and Princess Astrid of Belgium, will be marrying William Isvy in Brussels tomorrow, and since we have already featured the Savoy-Aosta Tiara and the Austria-Este Tiara, today, we will feature Queen Elisabeth’s Diamond Bandeau, which could be worn by Princess Maria Laura tomorrow!
Today marks the 150th Anniversary of the Birth of Princess Clémentine of Belgium, Princess Napoléon, who was born on this day in 1872! The youngest daughter of King Leopold II and Queen Marie Henriette of Belgium, Princess Clémentine had a tumultuous childhood, before a secret romance with Prince Napoléon Victor Bonaparte, who she eventually married after her father’s death, Princess Clémentine inherited some splendid jewels from her mother, which included this spectacular Diamond and Pearl Tiara!
The Belgian Royal Family celebrated National Day 2022 with a series of events on July 20th and 21st. The day commemorates July 21st, 1831 in which Prince Leopold of Saxe-Cobourg-Gotha swore allegiance to the new Belgian constitution, thus becoming the first Head of State of an independent state of Belgium under a constitutional monarchy and parliament. Foreign Royal Guests joined the Norwegian Royal Family for Princess Ingrid Alexandra’s 18th Birthday Banquet at the Royal Palace in Oslo on June 17th, as part of her delayed 18th Birthday Celebrations. Princess Ingrid Alexandra turned 18 in January, but the celebrations were delayed due to the pandemic, with a Gala Dinner hosted by the Norwegian Government yesterday. Continue reading
