King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands hosted the annual Gala Dinner for the Diplomatic Corps at the Royal Palace of Amsterdam in Dam Square on April 24th. Princess Beatrix, Princess Margriet, and Professor Pieter van Vollenhoven were also present. The Gala Dinner is held in order to maintain international relations and strengthen ties. King Abdullah and Queen Rania of Jordan are on an Official State Visit to the Netherlands, at the invitation of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima, to strengthen and celebrate their political, economic and cultural ties as well as their common work in employment, education and the reception of refugees.
