King Charles III appoints Prime Minister Andy Burnham
King Charles III has appointed The Right Honourable Andy Burnham MP as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and First Lord of the Treasury on July 20th, following the resignation of Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer. Andy Burnham is His Majesty’s fourth Prime Minister after Liz Truss, Rishi Sunak, and Sir Keir.
Order of the Thistle Service
The Prince of Wales (Duke of Rothesay in Scotland) and the Duke of Edinburgh joined King Charles III and Queen Camilla for the Service of the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle at St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh on July 1st, following a Garden Party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse during Royal Week in Scotland.

Cancer Research UK Reception at St James’s Palace
The Princess of Wales joined King Charles III and Queen Camilla as they held a Reception to mark the 125th Anniversary of Cancer Research UK at St James’s Palace in London on June 2nd. Both the King and Princess of Wales are cancer survivors.
Royal Family at the Chelsea Flower Show
The Princess Royal, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester joined King Charles and Queen Camilla for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show at the Royal Hospital Chelsea on May 19th. Members of the Royal Family have attended the Show, held by the Royal Horticultural Society, regularly since its inception in 1913.

King Charles III held a Garden Party to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the King’s Trust in the gardens of Buckingham Palace on May 14th. This is one of two special Garden Parties to be held following the three annual garden parties, with the first held on May 6th, the second on May 8th, and the last on May 12th.
