Queen Margrethe II of Denmark is marking the 50th Anniversary of the Accession to the Danish Throne today, after the death of her father, King Frederick IX of Denmark on this day in 1972. This month, Royals from around Europe have been actively following the 2020 UEFA European Football Championship, commonly referred to as 2020 UEFA European Championship, UEFA Euro 2020, or Euro 2020, the quadrennial international men’s football championship of Europe organised by the Union of European Football Associations.
Today the Scandinavian Crown Princely Couples had an online meeting over zoom, with Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark joining in from Frederik VIII’s Palace at Amalienborg in Copenhagen, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden at Haga Palace in Sweden, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway at Skaugum in Norway.
