King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of The Netherlands are hosting President Jorge Carlos de Almeida Fonseca and First Lady Lígia Dias Fonseca of Cape Verde, on a two-day State Visit to The Netherlands on December 10th and 11th, to promote and celebrate diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties, particularly in the fields of security and the maritime economy.

— Koninklijk Huis (@koninklijkhuis) December 10, 2018In the morning of December 10th, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima officially welcomed President Jorge Carlos de Almeida Fonseca and First Lady Lígia Dias Fonseca outside the Royal Palace on Dam Square in Amsterdam. After an inspection of the guard of honour, the President laid a wreath at the National Monument on Dam Square, which followed a reception with Dutch authorities and the Cape Verde dignitaries. In the afternoon, the President and King attended a Blue Economy roundtable meeting at the National Maritime Museum.

— Koninklijk Huis (@koninklijkhuis) December 10, 2018In the evening, King Willem-Alexander (wearing the Amílcar Cabral Order) and Queen Máxima (in the Dutch Diamond Bandeau, earrings from the Stuart Tiara, Queen Emma’s devant de corsage for the first time, and the Cape Verde Medal of Merit) hosted a State Banquet at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam in honour of President Jorge Carlos de Almeida Fonseca and First Lady Lígia Dias Fonseca of Cape Verde. Both the King and President gave speeches. Princess Beatrix (wearing the Antique Pearl Tiara)was also present.
