Today marks the 125th Anniversary of the Death of Queen Louise of Denmark, who passed away on this day in 1898! The Hesse Princess  who married her cousin and became the Danish Queen, she is known as the ‘Mother-in-Law of Europe’ through the marriages of her children, who sat on the thrones of Denmark, Greece, Russia, and the United Kingdom. Queen Louise had a notoriously small Jewellery Collection, so today we are featuring her Pearl and Diamond Tiara!

Dinner at Fredensborg Palace

The Danish Royal Family hosted the Hæderstegnsmiddag Dinner for Army Officers at Fredensborg Palace on the evening of September 26th, the birthday of the late King Christian X. The Queen hosts the alternating annual Dinner for the Army, the Navy and the Air Force, this year for the Army’s Badge of Honour, awarded to employees in the Army who have had 25 years of service in the Armed Forces. Royal Guests and Relatives from around Scandinavia have joined the Swedish Royal Family to celebrate King Carl XVI Gustaf’s Golden Jubilee this week, with the festivities culminating with a spectacular Banquet at the Royal Palace of Stockholm, following last night’s Gala Performance at the Drottningholm Palace Theatre and a Te Deum in the Chapel of the Royal Palace. Prince Christian of Denmark’s 18th Birthday Celebrations 

The Danish Royal Court has announced the schedule for Prince Christian of Denmark’s 18th Birthday Celebrations in October, which will be marked with an appearance on the Balcony of Amalienborg Palace and a Gala Dinner at Christiansborg Palace as well as a meeting of the Council of State held the following month. The eldest child of Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, Prince Christian is second-in-line to the Danish throne.
