Nobel Peace Prize 2017

King Harald, Queen Sonja, Crown Prince Haakon, and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway attended the annual Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony and Banquet in Oslo on December 10th. While the other Noble Prizes are awarded by King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, only the Peace Prize is awarded in Oslo.

The Nobel Peace Prize is awarded at a ceremony by the Chairman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee in the presence of King Harald, Queen Sonja, Crown Prince Haakon, and Crown Princess Mette-Marit at the Oslo City Hall. This year’s Prize was given to the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), which conducted an international campaign for the purpose of abolishing nuclear weapons. In the evening, the royal family attended the Nobel Peace Prize Banquet at the Grand Hotel in Oslo. On the evening of December 11th, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit were joined by Princess Ingrid-Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus for the Nobel Peace Prize Concert at the Telenor Arena in Oslo.
