Royal guests included the entire Greek Royal Family (uncle, aunts, and cousins of the groom), the Swedish Royal Family, Queen Margrethe of Denmark, the Norwegian Royal Family, Queen Beatrix with the Prince and Princess of Orange, the Dike and Duchess of Brabant, Queen Rania of Jordan, Empress Farah of Iran, and, most notably, the Prince of Naples and the Duke of Aosta (cousins and rival claimants to the former Throne of Italy) who got into a fight and left the Duke requiring medical attention, after being propped up by Queen Anne Marie of Greece, and King Juan Carlos, cousin of both men, declaring that “never again” would an opportunity to abuse his hospitality be afforded.
