Happy Birthday to Prince Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy, Prince of Venice and Piedmont, who turns 50 today! The son of Vittorio Emanuele of Savoy, Prince of Naples and the Princess of Naples, the only grandson of King Umberto II and Queen Marie José of Italy, Prince Emanuele Filiberto was born in Geneva and grew up in exile, because of the provision of the Italian Constitution prohibiting the male members of the Savoy Kings from entering Italian Territory, only going to Italy for the first time in 2002.

In 2003, Prince Emanuele Filiberto married French Actress Clotilde Courau at the Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri in Rome. The couple have two daughters, Princess Vittoria, Princess of Carignano and Marchioness of Ivrea, and Princess Luisa of Savoy. The Prince of Venice is the heir apparent of the House of Savoy, though there is a dynastic dispute with their cousin, the Duke of Aosta.

The Prince of Venice manages the Savoy Royal Honours, awarding the Supreme Order of the Most Holy Annunciation around the world, as the President of A.I.C.O.D.S. (International Association of the Dynastic Orders of the House of Savoy) and the President of the Council of Dynastic Orders. Since returning to Italy, he has made many appearances on television, including participating as a contestant in Ballando con le stelle and the Sanremo Music Festival, as well as launching a Prince of Venice Food Truck in LA. We wish HRH a very Happy Birthday and Many Happy Returns!
