Happy Birthday to Queen Anne-Marie of Greece who turns 71 today! The youngest daughter of King Frederik IX of Denmark and Princess Ingrid of Sweden, her elder sister is the Queen of Denmark, her sister-in-law is Queen Sofia of Spain, her cousin is the King of Sweden, and other relatives include the King of Norway and the Duke of Edinburgh. In 1964, she married her childhood sweetheart King Constantine of Greece at the age of 18. The couple have five children and nine grandchildren. She was Queen of Greece for three years before having to flee the country after a military coup. The family lived in Italy for 6 years until the monarchy was abolished in 1973, before moving to London, where they lived for 40 years. Recently, King Constantine and Queen Anne-Marie were allowed to return to Greece, and now reside in a Villa in Porto Heli. Related to most royal families, QueenAnne-Marie is regularly seen at foreign royal events. I wish HM a very Happy Birthday and many Happy Returns!
