Reigning and Exiled Royalty from around the world joined the Heads of State and Representatives of 121 Countries for the Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey on this day last year, but only a select few close Royal Friends and Relatives joined the British Royal Family for the Committal Service at Windsor Castle. The previous evening, the British Royal Family had hosted a Reception for visiting Heads of State at Buckingham Palace.

The British Royal Family walked in formation into and out of Westminster Abbey, and then into St George’s Chapel at Windsor, while the males, with the exception of the Princess Royal, also followed the late Queen’s Coffin through London to Marble Arch and through Windsor Castle to St George’s Chapel.

While the Funeral Service was open to Heads of State and representatives of 121 Foreign Countries, only a select few close Royal Friends and Relatives joined the British Royal Family for the Committal Service at Windsor Castle, including some who did not even attend the Service. The European Royal Guests sat on the upper row of the left hand side of the Chapel, above members of the British Royal Family, while other Royal Friends sat in the front rows of the congregation.
