Happy Birthday to Hereditary Prince Alois of Liechtenstein, who turns 49 today. The eldest son of Prince Hans-Adam II and Countess Marie Aglaë Kinsky of Wchinitz and Tettau, he was born in Zurich during the reign of his grandfather, becoming Hereditary Prince in 1989. Educated in Liechtenstein and Austria, he has also served with the Coldstream Guards. In 1993, he married Duchess Sophie in Bavaria. The couple have four children. In 2004, Prince Hans-Adam appointed Hereditary Prince Alois Regent of Liechtenstein, to perform all of his day-to-day duties, but still remain Head of State. Hereditary Prince Alois and Hereditary Princess Sophie represent the Princely Family at home and abroad. I wish HSH a Very Happy Birthday and Many Happy Returns!
