Dutch State Visit to Belgium

King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium are hosting King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of The Netherlands on their State Visit to Belgium from June 20th to the 22nd, which is the latest in the close relationship between the Dutch and Belgian Royal Families over decades. The themes of the visit are improving social and physical quality of life, combating climate change, maintaining and promoting a safe society and a sustainable future in which energy is green and affordable. The visit contributes to the further deepening of the intensive cooperation, in which the Netherlands and Belgium strive for a safe, clean and sustainable future.

Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla

Royalty and Heads of State from around the world have gathered to join the British Royal Family for the spectacular Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Westminster Abbey on May 6th, which is the first British Coronation in 70 years. The Ceremony follows the King’s Accession Council in September as well as a Reception for Royalty and Heads of State at Buckingham Palace.

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands are hosting French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron, on their two-day State Visit to The Netherlands on April 11th and 12th to promote and celebrate diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties, and deepening of cooperation, in which France and the Netherlands strive for a stronger, greener and safer Europe. The Dutch King and Queen went on a State Visit to France in 2014.

Dutch Royal Visit to the Caribbean

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands have joined the Princess of Orange on an extensive introductory Tour of the Caribbean Territories of the Kingdom of The Netherlands from January 27th to February 9th, beginning in Bonaire, Aruba and Curaçao before moving on Sint Maarten, Sint Eustatius and Saba. Culture, nature, colonial past, defense deployment, sports, and interactions with local residents are central themes of the Tour.

Funeral of King Constantine II of Greece

Royal Guests from around the world joined the Greek Royal Family for the the Funeral of King Constantine II of Greece at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Athens at noon on January 16th, which will be followed by the Burial in the Royal Cemetery at Tatoi Palace. The former King Constantine II was an Olympic Gold Medalist before becoming the Sovereign for nine years and then being exiled for over 40 years, returning to Greece only a decade ago. King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands are hosting Italian President Sergio Mattarella and his daughter, Laura Mattarella, on their three-day State Visit to The Netherlands from November 9th to the 11th to promote and celebrate diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties, and  deepening of the cooperation to a stronger, more sustainable and safer Europe. The Dutch King and Queen went on a State Visit to Italy in 2017, while the last Italian State Visit was in 2003.

Dutch State Visit to Greece

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands are on a State Visit to Greece at the invitation of President Katerina Sakellaropoulou, from October 31st to November 2nd in Athens and Thessaloniki, after being delayed twice. The Netherlands and Greece are jointly committed to an open, innovative and safe and stable Europe. During the visit, attention will be paid to cooperation in the field of innovation, sustainability, migration and human rights and the partnership within the European Union.

Prinsjesdag 2022

Queen Máxima, the Princess of Orange, Prince Constantjin and Princess Laurentien joined King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands as he gave the annual Prinsjesdag (Prince’s Day or Budget Day) Speech to the Dutch Parliament to outline the government’s agenda for the coming session on September 20th in The Hague. The annual ceremony is held on the third Tuesday of every September, and it was the first time that the Princess of Orange has attended.
