Queen Elizabeth II’s Lying-in-State at St Giles’ Cathedral

The Princess Royal, Duke of York and Earl of Wessex and Forfar joined King Charles III (wearing the Order of the Thistle) to follow the Coffin of Queen Elizabeth II in a Procession from the Palace of Holyroodhouse for a Service ahead of the Lying-in-State at St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh on September 12th. Queen Camilla (wearing the Queen Mother’s Diamond Thistle Brooch) and the Countess of Wessex followed the Procession in a cars. Earlier, the King and Queen visited the Houses of Parliament in London.

In the afternoon, there was a ‘Vigil’ by the King, Princess Royal, Duke of York and the Earl of Wessex and Forfar ahead of the transfer to London and the series of events leading up to the State Funeral on September 19th.
