Royal Families around Europe have been commemorating the 75th Anniversary of VE (Victory in Europe) Day, marking the end of the Second World War in Europe. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the celebrations are much changed than what was originally planned but still consisted of a variety of commemorations.

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of The Netherlands are on a State Visit to the Republic of Indonesia at the invitation of President Joko Widodo from March 10th to the 12th, visiting the cities of Jakarta and Yogyakarta in Java and the islands of Kalimantan and Sumatra, to celebrate and build diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties, particularly in economy, nature conservation, culture and science. After a tragic boating accident at the Sebangau National Park on Kalimantan while preparing for the State Visit, the third day of the visit in Kalimantan was cancelled and the visit ended a day earlier. Emperor Naruhito of Japan is being Officially Enthroned as the 126th Emperor on the Chrysanthemum Throne in a series of Ceremonies and Banquets in Tokyo this week, with a multitude Royal Guests from around the world in attendance.
