The Queen has appointed The Right Honourable Liz Truss MP as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom on September 6th 2022, following the resignation of Prime Minister Boris Johnson. The outgoing Prime Minister gave his formal resignation to the Queen at Balmoral Castle, which was followed by a half-hour period when the Queen was Absolute Monarch of the United Kingdom, until she received Liz Truss, officially asking her to form a government and become Prime Minister, the 15th Prime Minister of her 70-year Reign. Ms. Truss accepted Her Majesty’s offer and was appointed Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury.
