Following the Parade, members of the Royal Family returned to Buckingham Palace on horseback or in carriages, escorted by the The Life Guards and The Blues and Royals, with the King taking the salute upon arrival back at the Palace.
After a few minutes, members of the Royal Family appeared on the Balcony of Buckingham Palace to view the Royal Air Force Flypast, which consists of 70 aircraft, some form the scaled-back Coronation Flypast, followed by the National Anthem.
I love the Trooping of the Colour and that the King revived the late Queen’s habit of riding horseback in procession. (Catch any US President doing that out in the open!)
I thought the ladies looked lovely. I wish the Queen had gone full uniform, with red jacket and black skirt, rather than her almost but not quite dress, or else less uniform adjacent. She looked good though – red suits her.
The Princess of Wales looked fabulous in that embellished jade green and picture hat.
The children looked so cute in their red, white and blue outfits.
Sorry we didn’t see Princess Alexandra. She looked frail at the Coronation – hope she is well.
