Princess of Asturias Awards 2022

King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain, joined by the Princess of Asturias and Infanta Sofia, are in Oviedo this week to preside over the 2022 Princess of Asturias Awards, to deliver a series of prizes to individuals, entities or companies from around the world who make notable achievements in the sciences, humanities, and public affairs. Established in 1980, the Princess of Asturias Foundation is a private non-profit institution, whose objectives are to contribute to the exaltation and promotion of how many scientific, cultural and humanistic values are universal heritage and consolidate their links to the Principality of Asturias. Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II

Foreign Royal Guests and Relatives and Heads of State and Representatives of 121 Countries joined the British Royal Family for the Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey on September 19th, followed by a Procession to Marble Arch and a Committal Service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. The late Queen, who passed away at Balmoral Castle earlier this month, had been Lying-in-State first at St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh and then at Westminster Hall in London for the past week.

Heads of State Reception at Buckingham Palace

Ahead of the Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey tomorrow, the British Royal Family hosted a Reception for visiting Heads of State and Representatives at Buckingham Palace, which is stated to be one of the largest gatherings of Heads of State in History. The late Queen, who passed away at Balmoral Castle earlier this month, has been Lying-in-State first at St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh and then at Westminster Hall in London for the past week, with the Funeral at Westminster Abbey tomorrow to be followed by a Procession to Marble Arch and a Committal Service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. Queen Letizia of the Spain will be celebrating her 50th Birthday tomorrow! Having access to the Spanish Jewellery collection, Queen Letizia has worn many pieces from sizeable personal collection of her mother-in-law, Queen Sofia, as well as a variety of heirloom jewels, so to mark her birthday, we have been featuring the most prominent of those Jewels, ending with the Spanish Fleur-de-Lys Tiara!

Today marks the 130th Anniversary of the Birth of Princess Victoria Louise, Duchess of Brunswick, who was born on this day in 1892!
