The Swedish Royal Family are hosting Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and First Lady Jane Ittogi Shanmugaratnam on their State Visit to Sweden from October 19-21.
King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia welcomed President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and First Lady Jane Ittogi Shanmugaratnam at the Royal Mews ahead of a carriage procession to the Royal Palace of Stockholm, for the Official Welcome Ceremony, during which the King and President received military honours and inspeted the guard of honour.
Afterwards, the King and Queen as well as the President and First Lady were joined by other members of the Swedish Royal Family for an Audience and Luncheon inside the Palace.
Mrs Tharman and Queen Silvia (wearing the Pearl and Diamond Ivy Brooch) visited the Beckmans Design School, while the King and President participated in a roundtable discussion at Ericsson Studio.
In the evening, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia hosted a State Banquet in honour of President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and First Lady Jane Ittogi Shanmugaratnam at the Royal Palace of Stockholm. Both the King and President gave speeches. Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Princess Madeleine and Christopher O’Neill were also present.
Queen Silvia wore Connaught Diamond Tiara and Pink Topaz Parure, the Order of the Seraphim, and King Carl Gustaf’s Portrait Brooch.
Crown Princess Victoria wore the Laurel Wreath Tiara, Diamond Floral Earrings, the Baden Opal Brooch, the Order of the Seraphim, and King Carl Gustaf’s Portrait Brooch.
Princess Madeleine wore the Modern Fringe Tiara, the Order of the Seraphim, and King Carl Gustaf’s Portrait Brooch. It seems she also wore the King Edward VII Ruby Tiara as a Necklace for a portion of the evening.
