Princess of Girona Foundation Awards 2023

The Princess of Asturias, who also holds the title of Princess of Girona, was joined by King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia, and Infanta Sofia for the 2023 Princess of Girona Foundation Awards Ceremony in Girona. The Princess of Girona Awards are given in the categories of Arts and Letters, Business, Scientific Research and the Social field, for young people who stand out for a brilliant, constant and determined career, which contributes value and with the clear will to induce changes in our society, through cooperation and effort.

 
     

King Felipe, Queen Letizia, and Infanta Sofia joined the Princess of Asturias and Girona for the Princess of Girona Foundation Awards Ceremony at the Camiral Caldes de Malavella Hotel in Girona, at which the awards were presented to to the violinist María Dueñas; the engineer and founder CEO of Open Cosmos, Rafel Jordà Siquier; to the Doctor in Biomedicine and professor at Yale, Marc Schneeberger Pané; to the art therapist and founder of the Palliative Art Foundation, Silvia Fernández Cadevall and to the CEO and co-founder of the Kidogo childcare network, Sabrina Habib.

       

In her Speech, the Princess of Asturias and Girona said:

Tonight we are brought together by the talent of our five award-winners and their commitment to society and the challenges they face. The five are indisputable references who have I have taken advantage of the opportunities so that their career has a clear purpose with a social impact. I have spoken with them and with other young people about the concerns of our generation, what it means to train, how to find and develop one’s own talent, and how to prepare for new skills through innovative educational models, the awareness of living in a balanced way on our planet, vital projects when you are twenty or twenty-five years old”.

       

Earlier that day, the King and Queen had a meeting with the members of the Advisory Council of the Princess of Girona Foundation while the the Princess of Asturias and Girona and Infanta Sofia attended the presentation of the study prepared by KPMG “Paths that converge: young people and companies facing the challenge of talent”, ahead of a workshop of AmplificARTE music and education project and a meeting with winners of previous editions of the Princess of Girona Foundation Awards as well as a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Princess of Girona Foundation.

   

The previous day, the Princess of Asturias and Girona and Infanta Sofia attended a meeting and presentation of the 2023 activities report of the Princess of Girona Foundation, before a visit to the headquarters of the Princess of Girona Foundation (FPdGI) and a meeting-workshop, together with a group of young people participating in the Foundation’s programs, on innovation and creativity with Ferrán Adriá and the ElBulli1846 team.
