Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco led the Princely Family at Princess Caroline of Hanover’s annual ‘Bal de la Rose’ (Rose Ball) in the Salle des Étoiles of the Sporting Monte-Carl, on March 23rd, designed in collaboration with her friend Christian Louboutin.
The Rose Ball is a traditional annual charity event in the Principality, and this year’s theme is ‘Disco’, which was designed by Princess Caroline and her friend Christian Louboutin, and will benefit the Princess Grace Foundation with the participation of Stéphane Bern.
Created in 1954 by Princess Grace of Monaco, the Bal de la Rose (Rose Ball) is now an annual event that takes place every March in the prestigious Salle des Etoiles at the Sporting Monte-Carlo. The glamorous gathering of the international high society illuminates the Principality with glitz and sparkle for an evening of festivities. The Bal de la Rose is a symbol of razzle-dazzle and maintains the fascinating legend of Monte-Carlo that it helped to forge. The aura is such that it attracts many people who wish to be part of the dream and enchantment of Monaco.
A wind of glitter has swept over Monaco! This year, guests are going back in time to the (crazy) Disco era. The Salle des Étoiles will be adorned with its most beautiful disco balls to sparkle through a “Back to the Future” evening.
For this exceptional occasion, Shangela and Chad Michaels, two fabulous drag-queens straight from the 80s, will be performing the greatest hits by two Disco icons: Donna Summer and Cher. The famous choreographer Sadeck Berrabah and his 48 dancers will set the stage alight with the greatest hits of the 80s, before the night reaches its climax with the iconic Gloria Gaynor! Finally, DJ Kiddy Smile will have guests on their feet all night long.
The evening will also be hosted by Charly Voodoo, undisputed master of cabaret and live entertainment, pioneer of the Madame Arthur cabaret since it reopened in 2015. A performer at the famous Pigalle cabaret, he is coming to the Principality to put on a spectacular show.
