Happy Birthday to Hereditary Princess Ekaterina of Hanover, who turns 36 today! The Russian Fashion Designer married to the Heir of the illustrious Hanoverian Royal Family, Hereditary Princess Ekaterina has recently been spotted wearing the heirloom Hanoverian Floral Tiara!
A historic heirloom of the Hanoverian Royal Family, the provenance of this Tiara is unknown but it no doubt dates to the middle of the 19th century but was not publicly worn for over a century since Crown Princess Thyra was rarely photographed in grand jewels, while Princess Victoria Louise of Prussia, the Duchess of Brunswick only wore the Brunswick Tiara and refused to pass along heirloom jewels to her daughter-in-law, Princess Ortrud.
The Tiara first publicly appeared when it was worn by Princess Chantal, the then wife of Prince Ernst August of Hanover, with the Hanoverian Topaz Parure for the Wedding Ball of Hereditary Prince Alois of Liechtenstein and Duchess Sophie in Bavaria at Schloss Nymphenburg in 1993.
The Hanoverian Floral Tiara was also worn by the current Princess of Hanover, Princess Caroline of Monaco, with her Diamond Reed Stomacher at the Wedding Gala of Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark in Copenhagen in 2004.
In recent years, Ekaterina Malysheva wore the Hanoverian Floral Tiara for her Wedding to Hereditary Prince Ernst August of Hanover at the Marktkirche in Hannover in 2017.
The following year, the Hanoverian Floral Tiara was worn by Alessandra de Osma to marry Prince Christian of Hanover at the San Pedro Church in Lima, Peru.
The most recent appearence of the Hanoverian Floral Tiara was just a few weeks ago, when it was worn by Hereditary Princess Ekaterina for the Wedding Ball of Prince Ludwig and Princess Sophie of Bavaria at Schloss Schleißheim. There is no doubt we will will continue to see this spectacular Heirloom for years to come!
