The Service in particular paid tribute to the Duke of Edinburgh’s contribution to public life and steadfast support for the over 700 charitable organisations with which he was associated throughout his life. The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award featured prominently in the Service, with a Tribute given by a Gold Award Holder. After the Service, the Queen hosted a Reception and Luncheon for the Foreign Royal Guests.

  1. Last year the Sea Duke had a small but amazing funeral and this year he had a large and equally amazing memorial. It was so poignant to see the Queen in person! She wanted to be there so much! I am so glad she could negotiate walking to her pew with dignity, just like she wanted. This time she was surrounded by her family, her friends, and her peers, in addition to many of the people whose lives were forever touched by the Duke’s charitable schemes. Well done!
