Duchess of Gloucester

Happy Birthday to the Duchess of Gloucester, who turns 71 today. The Danish-born Birgitte Eva Henriksen didn’t expect to become Duchess when she married Prince Richard of Gloucester, a cousin of the Queen, in 1972, but the death of his brother, Prince William, six weeks after the wedding, and his father two years later, brought the couple on the Royal stage. The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester have three children and six grandchildren and reside at Kensington Palace. One of the hardest working members of the royal family, the Duchess undertakes duties on behalf of and with the Queen. Take a look at all of out Duchess of Gloucester posts HERE. 1. I have nothing but good things to say about the Duchess of Gloucester. She’s smart, beautiful, hard-working, discrete, and what’s even more remarkable, she has never put a foot wrong! For someone who was not raised in an aristocratic family, her behavior is an example that modern royals should follow. Both she and her husband have done nothing but their duty, and they have done it well and with grace. Her jewels are to die for! I have no idea how the Gloucesters have managed to hold on them. They had to lease the family estate and now live in apartments at Kensington Palace, but that is understandable. Another thing is, their children seem to take after their parents. All three of them seem to be well-adjusted people with successful, happy lives. Congratulations to the Duchess on her birthday! May there be many more!
