Dutch Pearl and Diamond Stomacher

Today marks the 60th Anniversary of the Death of Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands, who passed away on this day in 1962! The young girl who became the first Dutch Regnant Queen and reigned for almost 60 years, becoming a symbol of the resistance during the Second World War, Queen Wilhelmina possessed the entirety of the spectacular collection of the Dutch Royal Family, but today we are featuring one of her oldest Royal Heirlooms: The Dutch Pearl and Diamond Stomacher!

Italian State Visit to The Netherlands

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands are hosting Italian President Sergio Mattarella and his daughter, Laura Mattarella, on their three-day State Visit to The Netherlands from November 9th to the 11th to promote and celebrate diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties, and  deepening of the cooperation to a stronger, more sustainable and safer Europe. The Dutch King and Queen went on a State Visit to Italy in 2017, while the last Italian State Visit was in 2003.

Dutch State Visit to Greece

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands are on a State Visit to Greece at the invitation of President Katerina Sakellaropoulou, from October 31st to November 2nd in Athens and Thessaloniki, after being delayed twice. The Netherlands and Greece are jointly committed to an open, innovative and safe and stable Europe. During the visit, attention will be paid to cooperation in the field of innovation, sustainability, migration and human rights and the partnership within the European Union.

Dutch State Visit to Sweden

King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden are hosting King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands on their State Visit to Sweden from October 11th to the 13th, to celebrate and build diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties in the first Dutch State Visit to Sweden in over 35 years. Energy transition, sustainability, the life sciences and smart mobility are central themes of the State Visit with  shared values and cooperation on innovative solutions for the challenges of today and the future.

Prinsjesdag 2022

Queen Máxima, the Princess of Orange, Prince Constantjin and Princess Laurentien joined King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands as he gave the annual Prinsjesdag (Prince’s Day or Budget Day) Speech to the Dutch Parliament to outline the government’s agenda for the coming session on September 20th in The Hague. The annual ceremony is held on the third Tuesday of every September, and it was the first time that the Princess of Orange has attended.

Foreign Royal Guests and Relatives joined the British Royal Family for the Committal Service for Queen Elizabeth II at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on September 19th, following the Funeral at Westminster Abbey and a Procession through London. The late Queen, who passed away at Balmoral Castle earlier this month, had been Lying-in-State first at St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh and then at Westminster Hall in London for the past week.

Heads of State Reception at Buckingham Palace

Ahead of the Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey tomorrow, the British Royal Family hosted a Reception for visiting Heads of State and Representatives at Buckingham Palace, which is stated to be one of the largest gatherings of Heads of State in History.
