King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia last made a State Visit to Finland in 2015, while the last Finnish State Visit was in 2012.

King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden are hosting King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain on their State Visit to Sweden from November 23rd to the 25th, to celebrate and build diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties in the first Spanish State Visit to Sweden in over 40 years. King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and King Felipe VI of Spain are both descended through Queen Victoria from their respective grandmother, Crown Princess Margareta of Sweden, and great-grandmother, Queen Victoria Eugenie of Spain.
Last night, Queen Silvia of Sweden delivered a big surprise when she wore a pair of coordinating emerald earrings with the historic Bernadotte Emerald Parure, which had previously consisted of a necklace and two brooches. Prince Julian Herbert Folke of Sweden, Duke of Halland, the third son of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of Sweden, was christened in the Chapel of Drottningholm Palace on August 14th. Prince Julian is the first of the King’s grandchildren who was not born a member of the Swedish Royal House, and while he received a Ducal Title, he will not enjoy the style of Royal Highness and will not be expected to perform Royal Duties.
