King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia (wearing King Carl XVI Gustaf’s Portrait Brooch) were joined by Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia as they hosted the annual Sverigemiddag (Sweden Dinner) on the evening of April 29th at the Royal Palace of Stockholm. After greeting the guests in Queen Lovisa Ulrika’s Dining Hall, the Royal family proceeded to the dinner in the Vita Havet Assembly Rooms, where the King gave a speech. The dinner, first held in 2013, is for all Swedes who have made an important contribution to society, and was last held in 2019.
Meanwhile, Crown Princess Victoria (wearing the Order of the Seraphim and King Carl XVI Gustaf’s Portrait Brooch) and Prince Daniel were at his appointed as an honorary doctor of the Karolinska Institutet, in a graduation ceremony at the Stockholm City Hall. Prince Daniel was awarded the honorary doctorate due to his long-standing and strong commitment to public health, saying:
Being appointed honorary doctor at the renowned Karolinska Institutet is a great honor.
But above all, I see it as a recognition of all the people who are seldom recognized, but who devote their time and energy to helping children and young people establish healthy habits early in life.
