Today marks the 20th Anniversary of the Death of Archduchess Rosemary of Austria-Tuscany, who died at the age of 97 on this day in 2001! A Princess of Salm-Salm who married a member of the Tuscan branch of the House of Habsburg and became the mother of thirteen illustriously married children, the Archduchess lived a long and eventful life, so the anniversary gives us the perfect opportunity to feature her historic Topaz Parure, which originates from Empress Marie Louise!

Koningsdag 2021

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands were joined by the Princess of Orange (wearing Queen Juliana’s Aquamarine Earrings), Princess Alexia, and Princess Ariane for the annual Koningsdag (King’s Day) celebrations at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven on April 27th, participating in a special online and TV broadcast through the theme of Making Knowledge due to the ongoing Pandemic. Koningsdag, a Bank Holiday in the Netherlands, celebrates King Willem-Alexander’s Birthday, and members of the Royal Family attend celebrations in a different city each year. Continue reading

Anzac Day 2021

The Duke of Cambridge and the Princess Royal marked Anzac Day on April 25th, commemorating all Australians and New Zealanders killed in war and honouring returned servicemen and women. Anzac Day has been commemorated in London since the first anniversary of the Anzac landings at Gallipoli in 1916, when King George V attended a service at Westminster Abbey and more than 2,000 Australian and New Zealand troops marched through the streets, becoming an important moment to recognise the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps who died at Gallipoli in the First World War and during the D-Day landings during the Second World War, and to honour the sacrifices of men and women in all wars. Anzac Day is commemorated as a public holiday in both countries with memorial ceremonies held at various locations.

Princess Muna’s Tiaras

Happy Birthday to Princess Muna of Jordan, who turns 80 today! The British commoner who was the  as the second wife of King Hussein, she remains a valued member of the Jordanian Royal Family as the mother current King Abdullah II of Jordan. As the Jordanian Queen for 10 years, Princess Muna wore a variety of jewels, so to mark her 80th birthday, we are featuring Princess Muna’s Tiaras (and a necklace)!
