King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden are hosting King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain on their State Visit to Sweden from November 23rd to the 25th, to celebrate and build diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties in the first Spanish State Visit to Sweden in over 40 years. King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and King Felipe VI of Spain are both descended through Queen Victoria from their respective grandmother, Crown Princess Margareta of Sweden, and great-grandmother, Queen Victoria Eugenie of Spain.

Princess of Asturias Awards 2021

King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain, joined by the Princess of Asturias and Infanta Sofia, are in Oviedo this week to preside over the 2021 Princess of Asturias Awards, to deliver a series of prizes to individuals, entities or companies from around the world who make notable achievements in the sciences, humanities, and public affairs. Established in 1980, the Princess of Asturias Foundation is a private non-profit institution, whose objectives are to contribute to the exaltation and promotion of how many scientific, cultural and humanistic values are universal heritage and consolidate their links to the Principality of Asturias. The Princess of Asturias, who also holds the title of Princess of Girona, was joined by King Felipe, Queen Letizia, and Infanta Sofia for the 2020 and 2021 Princess of Girona Foundation Awards Ceremony in Barcelona. South Korean State Visit to Spain

King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain are hosting President Moon Jae-In and First Lady Kim Jung-sook of South Korea, on a 2-day State Visit to Spain to strengthen political, economic, and diplomatic ties, on June 15th and 16th, which is the first incoming Royal State Visit since the start of the pandemic. The King and Queen visited South Korea in 2019, following the Enthronement of Emperor Naruhito of Japan.
