Heads of State Reception at Buckingham Palace

Ahead of the Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey tomorrow, the British Royal Family hosted a Reception for visiting Heads of State and Representatives at Buckingham Palace, which is stated to be one of the largest gatherings of Heads of State in History. The late Queen, who passed away at Balmoral Castle earlier this month, has been Lying-in-State first at St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh and then at Westminster Hall in London for the past week, with the Funeral at Westminster Abbey tomorrow to be followed by a Procession to Marble Arch and a Committal Service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. Spanish State Visit to Sweden

King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden are hosting King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain on their State Visit to Sweden from November 23rd to the 25th, to celebrate and build diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties in the first Spanish State Visit to Sweden in over 40 years. King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and King Felipe VI of Spain are both descended through Queen Victoria from their respective grandmother, Crown Princess Margareta of Sweden, and great-grandmother, Queen Victoria Eugenie of Spain.

South Korean State Visit to Spain

King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain are hosting President Moon Jae-In and First Lady Kim Jung-sook of South Korea, on a 2-day State Visit to Spain to strengthen political, economic, and diplomatic ties, on June 15th and 16th, which is the first incoming Royal State Visit since the start of the pandemic. The King and Queen visited South Korea in 2019, following the Enthronement of Emperor Naruhito of Japan.

Spanish State Visit to Andorra

King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain are on a two-day State Visit to the Principality of Andorra on March 25th and 26th, to highlight and reinforce the ties and bilateral relations between both countries, ahead of the the Andorran presidency of the XXVIII Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government. This is the first Spanish State Visit since the State Visit to Cuba in 2019, before the beginning of the Coronavirus crisis.
