A pair of striking Diamond Earrings composed of various modern cuts of Diamonds, these Earrings are of unknown provenance and were likely acquired by Queen Mathilde, possibly at Auction.
When attending King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden’s 70th Birthday Banquet at the Royal Palace of Stockhom, Queen Mathilde wore the Wolfers Necklace Tiara and debuted these striking Diamond Earrings.
A few months later, Queen Mathilde wore the Diamond Earrings for the Belgian National Day Celebrations, followed by another appearance the following year at a Reception in the Royal Greenhouses of Laeken.
Queen Mathilde paired the Diamond Earrings with the Nine Provinces Tiara and the Diamond Butterfly Brooch for the State Banquet at Christiansborg Palace during the Belgian State Visit to Denmark.
Later that year, Queen Mathilde wore the Diamond Earrings as she represented Belgium at the Cremation of King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand at the Grand Palace in Bangkok.
In 2022, Queen Mathilde wore the Diamond Earrings for a Tour of the Acropolis Museum in Athens, followed by a Return Concert in honour of President Katerina Sakellaropoulou and Pavlos Kotsonis at the end of a State Visit to Greece.
More recently, Queen Mathilde wore the Diamond Earrings for the Welcome Ceremony as the Belgian Royal Couple welcomed King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of The Netherlands on their State Visit to Belgium.
The Diamond Earrings were also worn by Queen Mathilde for Belgian National Day in 2023 and also for a Concert. There is no doubt we will continue to see these Diamond Earrings worn for years to come!
