Happy Birthday to Lady Gabriella Kingston, who turns 43 today! The only daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, Lady Gabriella was the younger sister of Lord Frederik Windsor and was born the 18th in the Line of Succession to the British Throne. Lady Gabriella’s godparents were King Constantine II of Greece; Mariano Hugo, Prince of Windisch-Graetz; Marina Ogilvy; Princess Antonia, Duchess of Wellington; and Lady Elizabeth Anson.
Educated at Godstowe School and Downe House School, Lady Gabriella graduated from Brown University with a BA degree in Comparative Literature and Hispanic studies before doing an MPhil degree in Social Anthropology from Linacre College, Oxford. Lady Gabriella works as a writer and contributing editor and is a board director of the Playing for Change Foundation, a global music and arts education nonprofit.In 2020, as a singer-songwriter, she released two songs; “Out of Blue” and “Bam Bam” to raise money for a charity.
In 2019, Lady Gabriella married financier Thomas Kingson at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, in the presence of Queen Elizabeth II among Royal Guests and Relatives from around Europe. Thomas passed away from a “traumatic head wound” in February 2024.
Lady Gabriella was close to the late Queen Elizabeth II and continues to be close to King Charles III and Queen Camilla as well as the Prince of Wales, attending numerous Royal Events from childhood, most recently the Platinum Jubilee Service at St Paul’s Cathedral, the Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, and the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
