Happy Birthday to Crown Princess Elisabeth of Belgium, the Duchess of Brabant, who turns 22 today! The Heir to the Belgian Throne, who is set to become the first Queen Regnant of the Belgians, the Duchess will inherit one of the smallest Royal Jewellery Collections, but it has been expanding in recent years, which includes these striking Kunzite and Diamond Earrings!

In 2018, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of The Belgians acquired a pair of Kunzite and Diamond Earrings and Ring at the Sotheby’s Fine Jewels Sale in London, which were described as:
Each earring set with a pear-shaped kunzite framed by brilliant-cut and tapered baguette diamonds, suspended from a line of brilliant-cut and baguette diamonds, post fittings, British hallmarks; and a ring set with an oval kunzite, framed by brilliant-cut and tapered baguette diamonds, size L1/2, British hallmarks.”
Just a few months later, Queen Mathilde debuted the Kunzite and Diamond Earrings for the Armistice Concert at the Royal Palace of Brussels.
The following year, the Kunzite Earrings and the Ring were worn during the Belgian State Visit to South Korea, and were also worn for a New Year’s Reception at the Royal Palace of Brussels.
More recently, Queen Mathilde wore the Kunzite and Diamond Earrings and Ring for a State Dinner at the Royal Château de Laeken during the Austrian State Visit to Belgium in 2022.
Later that year, the Duchess of Brabant wore the ring of the Kunzite Suite for Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway’s 18th Birthday Banquet at the Royal Palace of Oslo, along with debuting the Vestey Tiara.
Earlier this year, the Duchess of Brabant wore the Kunzite and Diamond Earrings at the Wedding of Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan at the Zahran Palace in Amman, which shows that we will continue to see these splendid jewels worn for years to come!
