A year after their Holiday as an engaged couple in Corfu, the Danish Royal Family joined the Greek Royal Family at the Villa Mon Repos in Corfu on this day in 1965, 60 years ago, after the birth of Princess Alexia.
King Frederik IX, Queen Ingrid, and Crown Princess Margrethe of Denmark joined the Greek Royal Family for a photo call at the Villa Mon Repos in Corfu, as they presented Princess Alexia to the press and public.
King Constantine II of Greece was joined by Queen Ingrid of Denmark as well as Queen Frederica and Princess Irene of Greece as they drove to the Saint-Spiridon Church for a service in honour of the birth of Princess Alexia in Corfu.
King Constantine, Queen Anne-Marie, and Princess Alexia returned to Athens with Princess Sofia of Spain, Princess Benedikte of Denmark, and Princess Irene in September, when Princess Alexia was christened.
