Happy Birthday to the Countess of Snowdon! The only daughter of the 12th Earl of Harrington and Virginia Freeman-Jackson, the Hon. Serena Stanhope grew up in Chelsea and Monaco. In 1993, she married the then Lord Linley, only son of Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon, at St Margaret’s, Westminster in 1993. The couple had two children, , Viscount Linley and Lady Margarita Armstrong-Jones, and succeeded to the title in 2017, after the death of her father-in-law. Lord and Lady Snowdon did not undertake official duties, but were present at royal events, including the Queen’s 90th Birthday Thanksgiving Service and spend Christmas with the Royal Family at Sandringham, as well as staying with the Queen at Balmoral. The Earl and Countess announced their separation and impending divorce in 2020, meaning that the Countess will be styled as ‘Serena, Countess of Snowdon’ at some point in the near future, though we will most likely continue to see her at some royal events. We wish her a very Happy Birthday and Many Happy Returns!

    1. I wasn’t aware that he wasn’t at the Queen 90th birthday service, since they usually attend events together. Thanks for informing me!
