Crown Princess Cecilie’s Fabergé Tiara

Today marks the Anniversary of the Birth of Crown Princess Cecilie of Prussia, who was passed away on this day in 1954! Daughter of the Grand Duke and Duchess of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, she married the German Crown Prince Wilhelm, in 1905. The couple had four sons and two daughters, though the marriage was very unhappy, ending up in separation. Crown Princess Cecilie had a splendid jewellery collection, full of old family heirlooms and contemporary pieces, so to mark the occasion, we are featuring her Fabergé Tiara! Continue reading

Happy Birthday to Lady Sarah Chatto, who turns 58 today! The only daughter of Princess Margaret and Anthony Armstrong Jones, Lord Snowdon, she was born during the Royal Baby Boom of 1964, and is the only niece of Queen Elizabeth II. Koningsdag 2022

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands were joined by members of the extended Dutch Royal Family, including the Princess of Orange, Princess Alexia, and Princess Ariane, for the annual Koningsdag (King’s Day) celebrations in Maastricht on April 27th. Koningsdag, a Bank Holiday in the Netherlands, celebrates King Willem-Alexander’s Birthday, and members of the Royal Family attend celebrations in a different city each year. Continue reading
