The Heirs of Sweden, Norway, The Netherlands, and Belgium were among the Royal Guests, Relatives and Godparents who joined the Danish Royal Family for Prince Christian of Denmark’s 18th Birthday Gala Dinner at Christiansborg Palace last week, following an appearance on the balcony of Frederik VIII’s Palace at Amalienborg.
Prince Christian of Denmark is celebrating his 18th Birthday today, which is being marked with an appearance on the Balcony of Amalienborg Palace and a Gala Dinner at Christiansborg Palace as well as a meeting of the Council of State to be held in November. The Danish Royal Family hosted the Hæderstegnsmiddag Dinner for Army Officers at Fredensborg Palace on the evening of September 26th, the birthday of the late King Christian X. The Queen hosts the alternating annual Dinner for the Army, the Navy and the Air Force, this year for the Army’s Badge of Honour, awarded to employees in the Army who have had 25 years of service in the Armed Forces. King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway are being hosted by Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and the Danish Royal Family on an Official Visit to Denmark on June 15th and 16th. The visit marks the historical ties and the close neighbourly relationship between Denmark and Norway and between the two Royal Families, in addition to the King and Queen heading a Norwegian Business Delegation focusing on areas of Danish-Norwegian cooperation within, among other things, green solutions.

Today marks the Centenary of the Death of Princess Louise of Prussia, Grand Duchess of Baden, who passed away on this day in 1923. The Prussian Princess who was the Grand Duchess of Baden for over 50 years, much of the Grand Duchess’ jewellery collection ended up in Denmark and Greece through her great-granddaughter, Queen Ingrid of Denmark, including the spectacular Baden Palmette Tiara!
