King Frederik X and Queen Mary hosted the annual Hæderstegnsmiddag at Christian VII’s Palace at Amalienborg on the evening of September 26th, which was established by King Christian X in 1945.
King Frederik X and Queen Mary hosted the Gala Dinner for the Armed Forces, the Air Force and the National Emergency Management Agency at Frederik VIII’s Palace at Amalienborg, where the King and Queen, along with Queen Margrethe, received the attendees in the Audience Hall.
The Medal of Honour for Good Service in the Army is awarded to employees in the Army who have had 25 years of service in the Armed Forces.
The Army Badge of Honour was instituted on 26 September 1945, on the birthday of King Christian X. The date has since become a commemorative day in the Army.
Christian X would have turned 156 years old this year, and as a tribute to the King’s great-grandfather, Christian 10’s Honor March was played during the banquet.
King Frederik X wore his Air Force Uniform while Queen Mary wore her Diamond Earrings, the Armed Forces’ company uniform for women and the Order of the Elephant.
