Royal Guests and Godparents joined the Danish Royal Family to celebrate the Confirmation of Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine of Denmark at the Fredensborg Palace Church on April 18th.
Queen Margrethe II of Denmark received the Royal Family as they walked from the Chancellery House before Prince Vincent Frederik Minik Alexander and Princess Josephine Sophia Ivalo Mathilda of Denmark, the younger children of King Frederik X and Queen Mary, were confirmed in a ceremony officiated by the Royal Confessor, Bishop Henrik Wigh-Poulsen, at the Fredensborg Palace Church.

In front of the Palace Church altar, the Prince and Princess were confirmed by the royal confessor, Bishop Henrik Wigh-Poulsen.
During the last 100 years, Fredensborg Palace Church has been the centre of special royal confirmations. Both Her Majesty Queen Margrethe and His Majesty The King were confirmed here in 1955 and 1981 respectively. Most recently the confirmations of His Royal Highness The Crown Prince in 2021 and Her Royal Highness Princess Isabella in 2022 have taken place in the Church.
Shortly after the church ceremony of confirmation in Fredensborg Palace Church, portraits of Their Royal Highnesses Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine and family were taken in the Garden Hall at Fredensborg Castle.
Following the ceremony, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine came out of the Palace to speak to the Press.
“It’s a good day, the biggest wish is that the mood would be good and that everyone has a good time. We’ve been looking forward to today, me and Fine, and we’re grateful that our friends and family are here. I hope we’ll have a brilliant day, me and Fine.
It gives me a lot of support to have her to lean on, that we can go through everything together. I couldn’t imagine being celebrated without him, it wouldn’t be a special day. And it’s very nice to know you have a support by your side, someone you can trust.”
Official Photos were taken before King Frederik X and Queen Mary were joined by Crown Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine to walk from the Chancellery House to the Palace.
The Turquoise and Diamond Bracelet worn by Princess Josephine for her Confirmation was a wedding gift to the late Queen Ingrid from her great-aunt, Princess Louise, Duchess of Argyll, in 1935, which was given to Queen Margrethe in the 1960s.
