Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway

Happy Birthday to Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway! Born at the Rikshospitalet University Hospital in Oslo, she is the daughter of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, and has an older brother, Marius Borg Høiby, and a younger brother, Prince Sverre Magnus. Among her godparents are Crown Prince Frederik of DenmarkCrown Princess Victoria of Sweden, and King Felipe of Spain, and she was Confirmed in 2019. Princess Ingrid Alexandra began school at the Jansløkka Elementary School in 2010, before transferring to the Oslo International School in 2014, then to the Uranienborg School, before going for further schooling at the Elvebakken Upper Secondary School in Oslo in 2020. Princess Ingrid Alexandra is second in line to the Norwegian Throne, after her father Crown Prince Haakon, to succeed her grandfather King Harald V.  Princess Ingrid Alexandra celebrated her 18th Birthday and coming of age with a series of constitutional ceremonies, a Dinner, and a Banquet at the Royal Palace of Oslo. Her Royal Highness Princess Ingrid Alexandra will this autumn work at Uranienborg School as a school assistant and environmental worker. In 2024, the princess will serve 12 months of initial service at the Engineer Battalion in Brigade Nord.

In January, Princess Ingrid Alexandra goes to Skjold camp in Indre Troms, home base for the 2nd Battalion and the Engineer Battalion. After the recruitment period, the Princess is assigned a service position, and completes a professional period with more specific education followed by a departmental period of training and practice.
