Happy Birthday to Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, who turns 45 today! To mark the day, we are taking a look at her interchangeable Pendant Earrings, which are a staple in her jewellery box.

Crown Princess Mette-Marit has been wearing these versatile Earrings for quite a few years, which feature flexible diamond floral elements with three interchangeable pendants. The earrings are worn most often with the pearl pendant, with notable occasions including the Wedding of Crown Princess Victoria, the Christening of Prince Oscar of Sweden, King Harald and Queen Sonja’s 80th Birthday Banquet, and Crown Prince Frederik’s 50th Birthday Gala Dinner. The Pearl version was also worn by Princess Ingrid Alexandra for her Confirmation Dinner in 2018.

Another frequently seen pendant is the red stone drops, maybe rubies, which the Crown Princess Mette-Marit usually pairs with pink and red outfits, such at Crown Princess Victoria’s Pre-Wedding Dinner, and King Harald and Queen Sonja’s 80th Birthday Gala.

The versatile earrings have another option, and can also be worn with a Black Pearl. This version is rarely seen, but a notable example included one of Crown Princess Victoria’s Pre-Wedding Dinners. There is no doubt that these earrings will continue to be a staple in Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s jewellery box for years to come.
The birthday girl’s pendant drop earrings are absolutely beautiful! They look good with pearls or rubies, and I’ll bet emeralds or any other colored stone would look just as fine. The diamond drop looks like a compound leaf and the stone at the end the flower. Lovely! I wish her joy on her birthday!
