Happy Birthday to Queen Anne-Marie of Greece! The youngest daughter of King Frederik IX of Denmark and Princess Ingrid of Sweden, her elder sister is Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, her sister-in-law is Queen Sofia of Spain, her cousin is = King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, and other relatives include King Harald V of Norway and the Duke of Edinburgh. In 1964, Princess Anne-Marie married her childhood sweetheart King Constantine II of Greece at the age of 18. The couple have five children; Crown Prince Pavlos, Princess Alexia, Prince Nikolaos, Princess Theodora, and Prince Philippos, and nine grandchildren, and she was Queen of Greece for three years before having to flee the country after a military coup. The family lived in Italy for six years until the monarchy was abolished in 1973, before moving to London, where they lived for 40 years. Recently, King Constantine and Queen Anne-Marie were allowed to return to Greece, and now reside in a Villa in Porto Heli. Related to most royal families, Queen Anne-Marie is regularly seen at foreign royal events. Queen Anne Marie continues to reside in Greece following King Constantine’s passing in 2023. We wish HM a very Happy Birthday and many Happy Returns!
