Happy Birthday to Lady Sarah Chatto, who turns 58 today! The only daughter of Princess Margaret and Anthony Armstrong Jones, Lord Snowdon, she was born during the Royal Baby Boom of 1964, and is the only niece of Queen Elizabeth II. Inheriting the bulk of her mother’s jewellery collection, Lady Sarah wears quite a lot of special heirloom pieces these days, which include Princess Margaret’s Diamond Ear-of-Wheat Brooch! Koningsdag 2022

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands were joined by members of the extended Dutch Royal Family, including the Princess of Orange, Princess Alexia, and Princess Ariane, for the annual Koningsdag (King’s Day) celebrations in Maastricht on April 27th. Koningsdag, a Bank Holiday in the Netherlands, celebrates King Willem-Alexander’s Birthday, and members of the Royal Family attend celebrations in a different city each year. Continue reading

Anzac Day 2022

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke of Gloucester marked Anzac Day on April 25th, commemorating all Australians and New Zealanders killed in war and honouring returned servicemen and women. Anzac Day has been commemorated in London since the first anniversary of the Anzac landings at Gallipoli in 1916, when King George V attended a service at Westminster Abbey and more than 2,000 Australian and New Zealand troops marched through the streets, becoming an important moment to recognise the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps who died at Gallipoli in the First World War and during the D-Day landings during the Second World War, and to honour the sacrifices of men and women in all wars. Duchess of Windsor’s Emerald Necklace

Today mark the Anniversary of the Death of Wallis Simpson, the Duchess of Windsor, who died on this day in 1986! The twice-divorced American whose long-standing affair with King Edward VIII led to the 1936 abdication crisis in Britain. Wallis, later styled as the Duchess of Windsor, after marrying ex-King Edward VIII in June 1937 in France, did not posses any tiara but was no stranger to jewels, having amassed a magnificent collection throughout her life, so to mark the anniversary, we are featuring her Emerald Necklace!
