Happy Birthday to Princess Marie Luise ‘Lilly’ of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, who turns 50 today! The Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg Princess who was married to the Prince of Schaumburg-Lippe and is the mother of the Hereditary Prince, Princess Lilly remains close to the Schaumburg-Lippe Family and thus still wears the Schaumburg-Lippe Tiaras, which we are featuring today!

Today marks the Anniversary of the Death of Deborah Mitford, Duchess of Devonshire, who passed away on this day in 2014! The youngest of the infamous Mitford sisters who married 12th Duke of Devonshire and made Chatsworth into a glorious tourist destination, the Duchess possessed some spectacular Heirlooms of the Cavendish Family, but also added quite a few heirlooms into the collection, including these Insect Brooches. Banquet at Christiansborg Palace
Following her Golden Jubilee Gala and Banquet as well as the Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark tested positive for covid, and thus Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary presided over tonight’s Banquet and Ball at Christiansborg Palace, which mark the end of Queen Margrethe’s Golden Jubilee.

Happy Birthday to Princess Märtha Louise of Norway, who is celebrating her 51st Birthday today! The only daughter of King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway, and the only Princess of the Blood of her generation, Princess Märtha Louise has accumulated quite a substantial jewellery collection, which we featured last year, so today, we are looking at a jewel she has worn on loan from her mother: Queen Sonja’s Aquamarine and Amethyst Suite! Prinsjesdag 2022
Queen Máxima, the Princess of Orange, Prince Constantjin and Princess Laurentien joined King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands as he gave the annual Prinsjesdag (Prince’s Day or Budget Day) Speech to the Dutch Parliament to outline the government’s agenda for the coming session on September 20th in The Hague. The annual ceremony is held on the third Tuesday of every September, and it was the first time that the Princess of Orange has attended.
Royal Heirs at Prinsjesdag
Later today, the Princess of Orange will join King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands for the annual Prinsjesdag (Prince’s Day or Budget Day) Speech to the Dutch Parliament to outline the government’s agenda for the coming session in The Hague. The annual ceremony held on the third Tuesday of every September, with members of the Dutch Royal Royal Family attending upon their coming-of-age, so we are featuring Royal Heirs at their first Prinsjesdag over the past 100 years.
