Order of the Garter Service 2022

The British Royal Family attended the Service for the Most Noble Order of the Garter at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle on June 17th. The oldest and most senior Order of Chivalry in Britain, the Most Noble Order of the Garter was founded by King Edward III in 1348, and is limited to the Sovereign, the Prince of Wales and 24 members as well as members of the Royal Family, known as Royal Knights and Ladies, and Foreign Sovereigns, known as Stranger (or Extra) Knights and Ladies. Platinum Jubilee Beacon

On the evening after today’s Trooping the Colour Ceremony, the Principal Platinum Jubilee Beacon, involving The Tree of Trees (a 21m high ‘tree’ constructed of 350 smaller trees), was lit by the Queen at Windsor Castle, as the Duke of Cambridge presided over a special ceremony at outside Buckingham Palace. The Queen experienced ‘discomfort’ at today’s Trooping the Colour, so she will not be attending tomorrow’s service at St Paul’s Cathedral. Continue reading

Trooping the Colour 2022

Members of the British Royal family celebrated the Queen’s Official Birthday by attending the annual Trooping the Colour ceremony in London on June 2nd, launching the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Weekend Festivities. They rode on horses and in carriages to inspect the guards at Horse Guards Parade and then watched a RAF Flypast from the Balcony of Buckingham Palace. The Duke of Cambridge presided over the Colonel’s Review of the Irish Guards last week.

Royal Windsor Horse Show 2022

The Royal Windsor Horse Show is a horse show held annually since 1943 for five days in May or June in Windsor Home Park. The show is the only one in the United Kingdom to host international competition for dressage, show jumping, carriage driving and endurance riding, and every year, the Queen and members of the Royal Family are present, though this year, there will also be the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee: A Gallop Through History on the final day.
