Royal Condolences on the Death of Queen Elizabeth II

Queen Elizabeth II passed away at Balmoral Castle in Scotland at the age of 96 in the year of her Platinum Jubilee, and condolences to King Charles III have been coming in from Reigning and Former Royals around the world, most of whom the Queen met and hosted during their 70-year reign.

King Harald V of Norway said:

“Our thoughts are with His Majesty The King and the members of the Royal Family on the loss of Queen Elizabeth. For nearly a century, Her Majesty devoted her life to the service of the Commonwealth, following the British people through good days and bad, in times of happiness and sorrow. We also send our condolences to the British people,”  

King Harald has decided that, in connection with the death, the flag will be flown at half-mast from the Palace balcony tomorrow, Friday, and on the day of the funeral.

Deeply moved by the sad news of your beloved mother’s death, I send you and Camilla my warmest thoughts and prayers. 

Your mother was very important to me and my family. She was a towering figure among the European monarchs and a great inspiration to us all. We shall miss her terribly. 

Her 70 years of reign and service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth are an unprecedented and remarkable achievement. We shall always remember her important contributions to their development and prosperity. During her long life the world and your nation have changed dramatically. Throughout her reign in times difficult as well as positive she has played a crucial role as a unifying figure highly respected and deeply loved.
