Since the release of the first portion of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix docuseries two days ago, the media has been getting hoarse about how the, rather bland, program is damaging for the Royal Family, while the main target was no doubt the media themselves. However, in my opinion the most damaging portion of the documentary was the misinformation about the Empire and the Commonwealth of Nations, which maliciously attacks the legacy of the late Queen.
Today marks the 75th Anniversary of the Wedding of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip of Greece, the Duke of Edinburgh, who got married on this day in 1947! The British Heiress marrying the Greek Prince, Royal Guests and Relatives from around the world joined the British Royal Family for the nuptials which were the first gathering of Royalty following the Second World War, so we are featuring a guide to the Royal Guests at the Wedding!
When Princess Elizabeth (later Queen Elizabeth II) married Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark 75 years ago, the couple received over 2,500 gifts, which were sent from family, heads-of-state, and well-wishers around the world, which included spectacular Royal Heirlooms alongside household items, food, and clothing. The gifts were displayed at St James’s Palace between November 1947 and March 1948, and were seen by over 200,000 visitors.

When the Queen passed away last month, it brought to an end what was probably the most exclusive Honour of the United Kingdom, a piece of splendid insignia given to select female members of the Royal Family at the sole discretion of the Queen. The late Queen, who passed away at Balmoral Castle earlier this month, had been Lying-in-State first at St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh and then at Westminster Hall in London for the past week.
Ahead of the Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey tomorrow, the British Royal Family hosted a Reception for visiting Heads of State and Representatives at Buckingham Palace, which is stated to be one of the largest gatherings of Heads of State in History. Since the passing of Queen Elizabeth II last week, the new Princess of Wales has been wearing several jewels that originally came from the collection of the late Queen, most prominent among which are the Queen’s ‘Silver Jubilee’ Earrings.
The Royal Family hosted a Lunch and Reception at Buckingham Palace for the Realm Governors General of Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, the Bahamas, Belize, Canada, Grenada, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the Solomon Islands and Tuvalu, who are the Official Representatives of King Charles III in those Commonwealth Realms, following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, whose coffin is currently Lying-in-State at the Palace of Westminster.
The Royal Family will follow the Coffin of Queen Elizabeth II in a procession from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall, for a Lying-in-State until the Funeral on September 20th. The Coffin arrived at Buckingham Palace, following a Lying-in-State at St Giles’ Cathedral, following a Procession from Balmoral Castle, where she passed away last week.
Buckingham Palace has released the details for the days leading up to the Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away on September 8th, at the age of 96, in the 70th year of her reign.
