Royal Family at COP26

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are the COP26 United Nations Climate Change Summit in Glasgow this week. The Queen was originally scheduled to attend but cancelled a few days ago following orders from her doctors to rest, instead digitally delivering an address to the assembled delegates. The COP26 Summit in Glasgow from 31 October to 12 November brings together delegates from 200 countries and is widely seen as one of the last opportunities to get control of the goals of the Paris Accord, with the Prince of Wales and Duke of Cambridge, and his recent Earthshot Prize, at the forefront of those conversations. Holyrood Week 2021

The Queen is visiting Scotland for Holyrood Week between June 28th June and July 1st, to undertake a range of engagements celebrating Scottish community, innovation and history. The Queen will stay at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the sovereign’s official residence in Scotland, during her annual week-long stay in Edinburgh, which was cancelled last year due to the pandemic. The Queen will visit businesses, charities and cultural institutions that highlight the pioneering work taking place to further community engagement, education, technology and efforts to combat climate change.
